2 UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following
O R D E R
1 The petitioner, who is stated to be 89 years old, has undergone nearly 29 years of actual imprisonment without remission. The High Court declined to grant an extension of his interim bail on the ground that proper documentation was not presented in regard to his medical condition.
2 The petitioner has filed certain material on the record together with the Special Leave Petition, bearing on his health.
3 Acceding to the request of Ms Aishwarya Bhati, Additional Solicitor General, we direct that the petitioner shall be examined by a Medical Board at King Georges Medical University, Lucknow. The report in regard to the medical condition of the petitioner shall be submitted to this Court on or before 3 February 2023.
4 List the Special Leave Petition on 3 February 2023.
5 In the meantime, the petitioner shall continue to remain on interim bail in terms as already granted.
