2 UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following
O R D E R
1 By a judgment dated 27 February 2018, the Additional Sessions Judge, 12 th Court, South 24 Pargana, Alipore and Special Court under the NDPS Act convicted the petitioner of offences under Section 20(b)(ii)(C) of the NDPS Act and sentenced him to suffer rigorous imprisonment for fifteen years together with a fine.
2 The appeal is pending before the High Court at Calcutta (Criminal Appeal No 212 of 2018).
3 Notice was issued in these proceedings on 15 December 2022.
4 The petitioner has undergone imprisonment for over nine years out of the total sentence.
5 In this view of the matter, we direct that the petitioner be released on bail subject to such terms and conditions as may be imposed by the Sessions Court in connection with Sessions Trial No 07(07)/2014.
6 The Special Leave Petition is accordingly disposed of.
7 Pending applications, if any, stand disposed of.
