For Respondent(s)
UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following
O R D E R
1. Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner and on carefully perusing the material placed on record, we do not find any ground to release the petitioner on bail at this stage, keeping in view the fact that the High Court in its impugned order dated 23.08.2022 has specifically noticed that the arguments before the Trial Court have commenced in August, 2022. The High Court directed the Trial Court to conclude the trial and deliver the judgment expeditiously, preferably within a period of two months from the date of closure of arguments by the parties.
2. Since it is informed that the trial has not concluded despite the time bound direction issued by the High Court, we 2 direct the Presiding Officer of the Trial Court to ensure that the trial proceedings, in all circumstances, are concluded by 28.02.2023, subject to full cooperation being extended by the parties.
3. The Special Leave Petition stands disposed of accordingly.
4. As a result, pending interlocutory application also stands disposed of.
