O R D E R
SLP(Crl) No. 304/2024
We have heard learned counsel for the respective parties. Learned counsel for the respondent/State submitted that the trial is in progress and out of 10 witnesses, 3 witnesses have already been examined and if this Court were to direct early expeditious conclusion of the trial, no prejudice would be caused to the petitioner here inasmuch as having regard to the allegations against the petitioner as well as the other co-accused, who are also in custody, no case is made out for release of the petitioner herein on bail.
Having considered the submissions of the learned counsel for the respective parties, we are not inclined to grant the prayer sought for by the petitioner herein. However, we direct the Trial Court to conclude the trial within a period of six months from today.
The Special Leave Petition is dismissed with the aforesaid observations.
Pending application(s) shall stand disposed of. SLP(Crl) No. 16698/2023
