UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following
O R D E R
Heard learned senior counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the respondent-State. Though learned counsel for the respondent brings to our notice that the trial is in progress, taking note of the period of three years and five months for which the petitioner has been in custody 1 SLP (Crl.) No. 11243/2022 and also since more than 25 witnesses are yet to be examined, we feel that the petitioner is required to be granted bail. In any event, we note that most of witnesses are official witnesses. Be that as it may, if any condition is violated, at that stage it would be open for the respondent to bring it to the notice of the trial court. It is directed that the petitioner shall be released on bail subject to the conditions to be imposed by the trial court. The trial also be expedited by the trial court. The special leave petition is disposed of.
Pending application(s) shall stand disposed of.
