None present on behalf of the petitioner (convict) when the matter was taken up for hearing.

Heard Mr. Tapesh Kumar Singh, the learned senior counsel appearing on behalf of the State of Jharkhand.

This petition seeking leave to appeal is at the instance of a convict-accused for the offence of murder and is directed against the judgment and order dated 19.05.2018 passed by the High Court of Jharkhand at Ranchi dismissing Crl.Appeal No. 237/2009 filed by the petitioner (convict) herein thereby affirming the judgment and order of conviction passed by the Sessions Court in Sessions Trial No. 14 of 2007.

We are informed by the learned counsel appearing for the State that the State Government has thought fit to remit the sentence imposed upon the petitioner (convict). The date of release of the convict upon grant of remission, as pointed out by the learned counsel for the respondent, is 02 nd November,2022.

In view of the above statement being made by the learned counsel appearing for the State, we need not now adjudicate this matter on merits.
The Special Leave Petition is, accordingly, disposed of.
Pending application(s) shall also stand disposed of.
