UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following
O R D E R
1. The prayer in this petition is to suspend the sentence of the petitioner and release him on bail during the pendency of Criminal Appeal before the High Court against his conviction under Section 302 read with Section 34 IPC with the punishment of life imprisonment. The petitioner has completed more than 8 years of actual sentence.
2. Having heard learned counsel for the parties and on 2 carefully perusing the material placed on record, we deem it appropriate to dispose of the instant Special Leave Petition, at this stage, with liberty to the petitioner to approach the High Court for suspension of sentence as soon as he completes nearly 10 years of actual sentence. Any such application is requested to be heard expeditiously within a period of two months, uninfluenced by the previous orders. Ordered accordingly.
3. As a result, pending interlocutory applications also
stand disposed of.
